About
Flood the transparent areas of a texture with the colour of the nearest visible pixel, put the original alpha back on top, and export a PNG that carries its own mask.
Key features
- Kill the halo — mip maps, bilinear filtering and block compression all average across the silhouette and drag whatever sits outside it inward, which is what puts a dark fringe or milky edge on transparent art; bleeding the colour outward removes the cause instead of hiding it.
- Full flood, not a fixed margin — every transparent pixel takes the colour of the nearest visible one, all the way out to the image border, so no black survives anywhere and the fix holds at every mip level and every filter reach.
- The silhouette never moves — colour is written, alpha is not; the exported PNG has the original mask in its A channel, so there is no separate alpha file to ship, wire up or keep in sync.
- Alpha threshold — choose how visible a pixel must be to donate its colour, so muddy antialiased fringes stop acting as a source and get repainted with the real interior colour while keeping their softness.
- See the work — the bleed hides in colour channels alpha covers, so a channel switch shows RGB or the mask on its own; flip between Original and Result to watch the void fill in and confirm the silhouette is untouched. Checker, black, white or magenta matte behind the composite.
- Read the numbers — source pixel count, bled pixel count, and how far the furthest pixel sat from real colour, per texture.
- Bit-exact — a 2D canvas stores colour premultiplied by alpha and quantises the RGB of near-transparent pixels, so BLEED3R skips it entirely: WebGL decode with premultiplication off, and its own PNG encoder rather than the browser's. What goes in comes out.
- Batch it — drop a folder's worth, give each texture its own settings or apply one across all of them, and write straight to a remembered output folder or grab a zip.
- Runs offline — no network calls, no accounts, nothing leaves the machine.
How it works
Drop your textures, set the alpha threshold, check the result on the RGB channel, and export.
